Animal research conducted at CRI includes the search for new anti-malarial drugs, and factors affecting susceptibility to malarial infection; studies on animal models of various types of cancers; toxicity of metals, pesticides and air pollutants; acute and chronic toxicity of chemicals found in natural sources; and the health effects of climate change. The major users of the animal facility are researchers from laboratories of Environmental Toxicology, Pharmacology, Immunology, as well as Translational Research Center.

On October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lom Sak district office meeting hall, Phetchabun province, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), presented 1,100 sets of the Royally-Granted essential supplies, such as jasmine rice, canned food, instant noodles, towels, common household medicines, and face masks, to Mr. Krit Kongmuang, Governor of Phetchabun Province, accompanied by heads of provincial authorities, community leaders, and flood victims, for onward distribution to the flood victims in Phetchabun Province. The primary goal was to uplift the spirits and alleviate the immediate suffering of those affected by the flood. On this occasion, the Vice President for Special Activities of the CRI conveyed the deep concern of Her Royal Highness for those affected by the natural disaster in Phetchabun Province, as well as the officials on duty from various agencies. The benevolence of Her Royal Highness brought immeasurable joy and gratitude to the flood victims and the officials. They expressed their reverence for Her and wished Her excellent health and happiness. Since September 28, 2023, a total of 19 subdistricts with over 7,600 households and 19,000 rai of agricultural land, had been affected by the flooding in Lom Sak district, Phetchabun province....

On August 24, 2024 at Kaewsamui Resort, Surat Thani Province, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Lieutenant Chawat Arthayukti, Vice President for International Relations of the CRI, presided over the opening ceremony of the Training Project for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabie to Communities, under the strategy of the operation of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”. The Project aims to promote network engagement in the operation, surveillance, prevention, and control of rabies, as well as systematic and efficient management of animal population in communities. The training was conducted in collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University, as well as other relevant agencies, to develop and establish a network to prevent and control rabies in communities through various learning promotion activities, such as academic lectures, a workshop on using applications, demonstrations of first aid procedures, knowledge transfer on rabies using a Q&A game, as well as knowledge on legal provisions related to the prevention and control of rabies. Over 200 representatives of various agencies attended the training.
