        On January 12, 2024 at 11.30 a.m., acting under the Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities of the CRI, presided over the ceremony  at the 4th Development Division, Rattanapol Military Camp, Khlong Hoi Khong District, Songkhla Province, to present the Royally-granted items, which included consumer essentials such as jasmine rice, canned food, instant noodles, towels, common household medicines, and 2,000 sets of face masks, 1,000 sets each, to Chief Petty Officer Second Class Anan Bunsamran, Vice Governor of Yala Province, and Mr. Sangkom Kerdkor, Deputy Governor of Narathiwat Province, for onward transmission to flood victims in the regions of Yala and Narathiwat Provinces.  The primary goal was to uplift the spirits and alleviate the immediate suffering of those affected by the floods at the initial stage. HRH’s benevolence brought immeasurable joy and gratitude to the flood-affected communities.

        From December 22-31, 2023, the provinces of Yala and Narathiwat experienced flooding influenced by the northeastern monsoon. Strong winds covered the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, the Andaman Sea, and the southern east coast.  Thunderstorms occurred in many areas, with heavy to very heavy rain prevailing.  In Yala Province, 7 districts were affected, excluding Betong District, totaling 52 sub-districts.  This impacted 21,185 households, resulting in 4 fatalities.  As for Narathiwat Province, 13 districts and 77 sub-districts were affected, with 91,085 households suffering and 14 fatalities.

Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, and Delegation Conducted Site Visits to Follow Up on Progress of Royal Initiative Projects of the President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute in Chiang Mai and Lamphun Provinces between January 24–25, 2024

On January 25, 2024, Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, accompanied by Mr. Piboon Tivakornpanarai, Director of the Office of Special Activities, and a delegation conducted a site visit to follow up on the progress of the “Royal Initiative Project on the Research and Development of Industrial Scale Orchids” at Mae Hia Agricultural Training and Research Center, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. Mr. Phongsak Puttatum, the Project’s official reported smooth progress of the Project in various areas. Later, the Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, offered recommendations and operational guidelines, as well as moral support to the Project’s officials for further improvement in efficiency and effectiveness. Afterwards, the Vice President and his delegation visited the “Project on the Development and Compilation of the Genetics of Fragrant Woods for Research” in Mae Tha District, Lamphun Province. On this occasion, the delegation was briefed about the progress of the Project. The Vice President provided policy guidance, and offered moral support to the Project’s officials to continue their smooth development in various areas, fulfilling the intention of the President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute. Director of the Office of Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, and Delegation Conducted Site Visit to Follow Up on the Progress of the Ceramics Project, Chulabhorn Research Institute under the Royal Initiative of the President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute at Chulabhorn Pattana 2 Village, Khao Phra Subdistrict, Phipun District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province Between January 10-14, 2024

Mr.Piboon Tivakornpanarai, Director of the Office of Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, accompanied by Mr. Khate Boonmee, Acting Director of Project Monitoring and Analysis (Chulabhorn Pattana Village), and a delegation conducted a site visit to follow up on the progress of the Ceramics Project, Chulabhorn Research Institute, under the Royal Initiative of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, and under the supervision of the Office of Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute at Chulabhorn Pattana 2 Village, Khao Phra Subdistrict, Phipun District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. During the visit, the Director of the Office of Special Activities and his delegation observed all ceramics production processes and checked the condition of the clay extruder to ensure the readiness for use. Following this, the project official reported on the operation of the project, its progress, and any problems encountered. The Director of the Office of Special Activities provided guidelines and recommendations to the project officials to develop and improve the ceramics production processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. On April 22, 2023 at 09:00 a.m., by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Mr. Surapit Kirtiputra, Vice President for International Relations of the CRI, presided over the opening ceremony of the Project on Integrated Training for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabies to Communities, under the strategic plan of the operation of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”, at Classic Kameo Hotel, Pailing Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The Project was a collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University. The training aims to disseminate the information on the progress of the Project, as well as related laws and regulations, and provide a forum for exchange of learning, including academic knowledge and practical experiences, human and animal health, and efficient management of rabies in communities, by raising awareness of the methods to sustainably prevent the spread of rabies.
