By Royal Command of the President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, the Project on Integrated Training for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabies to Communities was Organized in Prachin Buri Province
On February 17, 2024, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, Mr. Chalermpol Thanchitt, Vice President for International Relations, Chulabhorn Research Institute, presided over the opening ceremony of the Project on Integrated Training for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabies to Communities. This event, held at Kantary 304 Hotel, Sri Mahapot District, Prachin Buri Province, is part of the strategic plan of the operation of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”.
Prachin Buri Province is one of the target areas for the operation of the Project on Integrated Training for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabies in Communities. The activities were organized to facilitate knowledge exchange on animal health, human health, and the efficient management of stray dogs in communities. The training topics consisted of academic lectures and the use of applications to prevent rabies in schools and communities. Approximately 150 participants attended, comprising livestock officials, public health officials, health education teachers, village health volunteers, and community representatives.
Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol places great importance on proactive campaigns to create rabies-free areas at the local level. Since 2017, Her Royal Highness has taken a leading role in the operation of the HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies” which integrates all relevant agencies under the principle of “One Health” to enable humans, animals, and the environment to coexist safely. It is the intention of Her Royal Highness to eliminate human rabies-related deaths in Thailand sustainably.
