On August 24, 2024 at Kaewsamui Resort, Surat Thani Province, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Lieutenant Chawat Arthayukti, Vice President for International Relations of the CRI, presided over the opening ceremony of the Training Project for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabie to Communities, under the strategy of the operation of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”. The Project aims to promote network engagement in the operation, surveillance, prevention, and control of rabies, as well as systematic and efficient management of animal population in communities. The training was conducted in collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University, as well as other relevant agencies, to develop and establish a network to prevent and control rabies in communities through various learning promotion activities, such as academic lectures, a workshop on using applications, demonstrations of first aid procedures, knowledge transfer on rabies using a Q&A game, as well as knowledge on legal provisions related to the prevention and control of rabies. Over 200 representatives of various agencies attended the training. Dr. Kwanrawee Sirikanchana, Research Scientist II at the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), attended a meeting on the study and analysis of the risk of antimicrobial resistance in hospital wastewater treatment system impacting people’s health, organized by the Bureau of Environmental Health, Department of Health, on June 12, 2024. The study findings constituted part of academic services projects provided by the Laboratory of Biotechnology of the CRI. During the meeting, a representative from the Bureau of Environmental Health, gave a lecture on “Research project to evaluate the readiness of the public health sector in developing the prototype of the management of antimicrobial resistance in hospital wastewater treatment system”. Moreover, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thammanitchpol Denpetkul, lecturer from the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, and co-researcher of the Laboratory of Biotechnology’s academic service project, gave a lecture on the study findings of the project titled “Study and analysis of the risk of antimicrobial resistance in hospital wastewater treatment system impacting people’s health”.
