Chulabhorn Research Institute Holds Religious Ceremony in Dedication to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on Nawamindra Maharaj Day 2023

On October 11, 2023 at 09.00 a.m., the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI) held a religious ceremony in dedication to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on Nawamindra Maharaj Day which falls on October 13, 2023 at the CRI Convention Center. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, Vice President for Administration, Building and Grounds of the CRI, served as Chairman of the ceremony, accompanied by CRI executives and personnel. The ceremony included the chanting of prayers in dedication to His Majesty and in gratitude for the supreme benevolence of His Majesty, King Rama IX the Great of the Chakri Dynasty, which was bestowed upon the Thai people.

During His 70-year reign until his passing, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great tirelessly devoted Himself to the great benefit of the nation and the Thai people, establishing a continuous foundation for the country’s development. His Majesty’s invaluable contributions through the Royal Initiative Projects have been key to the country’s sustainable development and have left a lasting legacy of national knowledge.  Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the CRI, has dedicated Herself to following His Majesty’s commitments by developing and supporting initiatives in science, medicine and public health, as well as environmental development.  Her Royal Highness has formulated policies that direct the Chulabhorn Research Institute to apply science and technology for the maximum benefit and improvement of the quality of life of the Thai people nationwide, leading to the country’s genuinely sustainable development.

Through His Majesty’s innumerable works, recognized both by the Thai people and international communities, His Majesty was honored as the Development King, with invaluable contributions to Thailand and the world.  Additionally, His Majesty was revered as a spiritual anchor to the Thai people.  Since His Majesty’s passing, the Thai people have remained unwavering in their respect for His Majesty.  To honor the anniversary of His passing as a day of remembrance and gratitude, the Thai government has declared October 13 each year as “Nawamindra Maharaj Day” which literally means a day to remember King Rama IX the Great.
