Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute, and Delegation Attended Meeting to Devise Project Action Plan and Management Guidelines of Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center with the Commander, Third Naval Area Command (3rd NAC) and Conducted Site Visits to Follow Up on Progress of Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project and Baan Nam Sai Community Project In Thai Mueang District, Phangnga Province on Friday, October 27, 2023
On October 27, 2023 at 10.30 a.m., Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee for the Operation of the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, along with members of the Working Group, attended a meeting with Vice Admiral Suchart Thampitakvej, Commander, Third Naval Area Command (3rd NAC), Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Operation of the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, and a delegation. The objective was to jointly devise the 2024 action plan for the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, the management guidelines for the Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center, and an action plan for the survey, repair, and laying out of buoys for boats to prevent indiscriminate anchor casting and conserve coral reefs in the Andaman Sea. The meeting was held in the meeting room of the Third Naval Area Command, Mueang Phuket district, Phuket province. Captain Thompong Charlardtham, RTN, Head, Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center, and Chief Petty Officer First Class Adisron Rodchawang, an official attached to the Center, also attended the meeting.
In the afternoon, the Vice President for Special Activities of the CRI visited the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project and Baan Nam Sai Community Project, both in Thai Mueang district, Phangnga province to follow up on the progress of the Projects. Captain Thompong Charlardtham, RTN, acting Projects leader reported on the progress of the Projects in various aspects. The Vice President offered advice, recommendations, and operational guidelines to the officials of both projects to ensure that they efficiently perform their duties to achieve the goals for the maximum benefit of the projects.
Before returning to Bangkok, the Vice President for Special Activities of the CRI presided over a meeting to discuss the livelihood of the residents in Baan Nam Sai Community Project. Those attending the meeting included Mr. Jatupol Nual-On, Chief, Administration and Local Project Coordination Subdivision, Miss Kanda Wannarat, Chief, Supplies Subdivision, Miss Dithaporn Varnasilpin, Chief, Procurement and Equipment Registration Group, Captain Thompong Charlardtham, RTN, acting Project leader, Miss Chalermsri Paeyai, Mayor of Lam Kaen subdistrict, Mr. Juti Panrak, Village Headman, Moo 2, Lam Kaen subdistrict, as well as officials of Baan Nam Sai Community Project, and residents living in the Project area, consisting of 30 households.
This meeting aimed to elevate the livelihood of the residents living in the Project area to enable them to form a strong and livable community, and also to listen to their problems. The meeting was held at the meeting center of Baan Nam Sai Community Project, Lam Kaen subdistrict, Thai Mueang district, Phangnga province.
